dedicated to psychology, mental health, and human
behavior. You may view a video clip of this weekly TV

26 October 1978-Present:
Independent professional private practice in Clinical Psychology,
Instituto Dr. Pacheco de Psicología, Edificio Profesional Clínica Dr.
Abel González, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
I am a senior, doctoral-level,
fully bilingual/bicultural (Spanish and English)
Behavioral Humanistic Clinical Psychologist trained in
the Dominican Republic and in the U.S.A., specialized in
human behavior and change, with over three decades of
professional clinical and administrative experience, and
with licenses as Psychologist and MFT in the State of
California, since 1978, and as Psychologist in the
Dominican Republic since 1974. I am a Member in good
standing of the Colegio Dominicano de Psicólogos
(CODOPSI). I have been a Member, among others, of APA,
APS, ABFE, AABT, ABA, ISP, and ICP.
My early clinical training
included internships at several U.S.A. community mental
health centers, and at a behavior modification unit in a
Veterans Administration Neuropsychiatric Hospital, under
the supervision of Julian I. Taber, Ph.D.
Since 1978, I have been working
professionally in my independent private practice,
having specialized myself as a humanistic behavior
therapist in an out-client private clinic serving the
general population, including children, adolescents,
adults, couples, and families, of all ages and groups of
reference. I am well experienced in all aspects—routine
and crisis intervention—of the administrative and
service delivery processes in hospitals and CMHC’s.
I also
trained in and have experience as a consultant to
institutions. Part of my organizational experience
includes having founded and assumed leadership roles in
the organization of the Dominican Fulbright Scholars
Association, the Asociación Dominicana de Especialistas
de la Clínica Dr. Abel González, the Asociación
Conductista Dominicana, the Bicultural Association of
Spanish Speaking Therapists and Advocates (San
Francisco, California), and the Dominican Association of
Teachers of English.
I would like
to invite you to visit the website I have created and
maintained, at
http://www.idpp.org/, as
there you can see samples of my work. Most of the
website is presented both in Spanish as well as in
English, although the majority of the publications are
only in Spanish.
I have
included in this website my vision as to why I want to
teach others to Learn to Live Better
®, a part of my
publications, as well as all the clinical and
administrative forms, three-panel psycho-educational
brochures, and slide presentations I have designed and
use in my clinical practice or for educational purposes.
Of particular
professional interest at this website is the description
of The Pacheco Zone in Women (http://www.idpp.org/idpp_eng/publications/pub_eng03.htm#informativebroch),
as is the presentation of my video on
Entrenamiento en Relajación Muscular Progresiva
